The 12th is coming quickly and I am as ready for India as I am going to be. The original plans of shooting 2 new docs is still in place, however, there has been some changes. Geshe Tsulga has been diagnosed with cancer. I don't have any more info that I can share at the moment. I know he has consulted with doctors in Boston and plans to meet with doctors while in India as well as his teacher.
At the moment I don't have the words to adequately describe how I feel. Geshe La has been my teacher for many years now. For being such an awful student I am very fortunate to have such an amazing teacher. Karma is a funny thing.
If you have Google Earth installed here is the latitude and longitude of Geshe La's house at Sera Je. Drop them into the fly to box and it will take you there.

I will be spending 3 weeks with the Tibetan monks of Sera Je monastic university. I have not visited them since 1993. While there I will be shooting my next documunentry about the Venerable Geshe Tsulga and his life with his students in India as well as Venerable Ngawang Trinley receiving his Geshe degree. I'm very excited about this opportunity to see some old friends and meet new ones.

We've been excited for you since we first heard of your upcoming trip. You're right though: suddenly the bottom drops out and there's a new dimension of meaning behind this excursion. Geshe la has a way of doing that, doesn't he?

It appears that your trip will be more than you first thought. My advice to you, though you probably don't recall asking for it, is to remember to be present at all times, embrace each moment as it comes, and allow the passion that fills you to overflow as you go through each day.
